6 permanent cottages

DESCRIPTION
Saruni is a deluxe and intimate lodge set in a private conservation area outside the Masai Mara National Reserve. With accommodation for only 12 guests in six spectacular cottages, it is set in a remote valley in the heart of the most exciting  wilderness of Kenya. Saruni offers a new concept of safari: a real African adventure experienced in harmony with Maasai warriors and coupled with high standards of style and comfort.

The accommodations are furnished with colonial antiques, Persian carpets and African art. The atmosphere of the camp is informal but elegant. Each cottage has hot and cold runningwater, 220-volt electricity, elegant Italian bathroom fittings, polished wooden floors, and large bathrooms with canvas fronts that can be opened to offer you an amazing "shower with a view". Décor is unique to each cottage and from the large verandahs one can enjoy a unique view of the Mara plains and watch the many wild animals that come to the nearby
waterhole. The camp offers its own private spa treatment centre, the “Masai Well-Being Space”.

Campi ya Tembo is Saruni’s deluxe tented camp with 3 double rooms, located 10 km from the main lodge offers Saruni’s
guests a chance to experience the Masai Mara from the inside of a tent. The accommodation consists of spacious beige
tents with hand-made Desert Rose cedar furniture and en suite bathroom facilities. The activities focus on elephant tracking,
learning bush-craft, walking and fabulous night game drives.

WELLNESS SPACE
In collaboration with Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees (Stresa, Italy) and its world-famous spa - Centro Benessere Stresa, Saruni runs the Maasai Wellbeing Space. It is a unique feature in the Maasai Mara: in the most serene and relaxing environment, our guests enjoy massage and wellness treatments under the supervision of highly trained staff. It's a private cottage hidden in our valley's olive and cedar forest and devoted to the use of local plants for beauty and relaxation treatments.

The new techniques combine sophisticated methods developed at Centro Benessere Stresa with ancient Maasai wisdom and knowledge. For instance, we use Olsinoni leaves (Lippia Javanica) for their detoxifying and purifying properties. Also we use pure gel from Usuguru (Aloe Kedongensis) and compresse of Olleleshwa leaves (Tarchonantus Canphorantus) to remove skin impurities and to improve the natural regeneration of the cells. In pedicare we complement more traditional products with Ol-Emoran leaves (Hoslundia Opposita).

Among the treatments available, you can choose between the lymphatic drainage massage, decongestive or nourishing or purifyng facials, manicare, pedicare and the popular sport massage. All with an open view of the forest, where bushbuck, elephant and waterbuck roam freely.
